Islay is a criminal prosecutor who regularly appears in the District Court and has previously appeared in the High Court and Court of Appeal. Prior to joining Luke Cunningham Clere, Islay was employed as a criminal defence barrister. She graduated from Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington in 2022.
